Photo Gallery: International Women’s Day celebration

March 9, 2023

If you walked into Foster Hall any time around 12 p.m. on March 8, you were immediately greeted by students, faculty, and Virginia State community members celebrating —  all while wearing different shades of the color purple for International Women’s Day.

Students, faculty, and the Virginia State University community gathered in Foster Hall at 12 p.m. to celebrate International Women’s Day. A group picture, a reception, and a raffle giveaway took place. Special guest speaker, Life Coach Michelle McKinney, spoke at the reception. She talked about how to give introductions, how to take up space in the workplace, and how to be unapologetic in life with Mekhi McKinney, our Mister Virginia State University.

“When it comes to where you are in your respective space,” McKinney said. “Remind yourself that you belong here.”
