It’s that time of the year again for students and faculty to get their VSU parking decals.
The parking decal is a permit for students and faculty who have cars that are parked on campus. The decal will help to allow students and faculty to legally park their cars on campus without their cars getting ticketed or towed.
On Sept. 9, the VSU Police Department sent an email explaining that students and faculty must purchase a parking decal in order to be able to park their car on campus.
“All employees and students who park on campus are required to have a parking decal for the current school year 2024-2025,” the VSU Police Department said.
Starting Sept. 1st, VSU police also explained that the decals are only being sold online through the VSU website.
“All decals must be purchased using our convenient online website,” the VSU Police Department said.
Students and faculty who need to purchase a parking decal should go to www.vsu.edu and search “parking manual.” Then, they will be taken to the parking decal portal.
The VSU police added that while everyone should be able to easily purchase a decal; freshman students must fill out a parking waiver request form and wait for approval from the Director of Student Conduct in which their request to purchase a parking decal may or may not be approved.
Freshman can easily access the parking waiver request form by going online to the VSU website and searching “Freshman parking waiver.”
The enforcement of parking decal protocols will begin on Oct. 1. Students and faculty without a decal will face consequences.
“Student and employee vehicles with no VSU decal displayed after Oct. 1, 2024, will be subject to ticketing and towing,” VSU police department said.
