Trojans split two-game series against Lock Haven

This past weekend the Trojans baseball team played a hard-fought series against a highly skilled team in the Lock Haven University Bald Eagles. 

The Trojans split the two-game series one to one as the Trojans won the first game 3-2, with third baseman Emmitt Jefferson hitting a clutch double and hitting in the tying and game-winning runs in the 5th inning by hitting in Ricky Jones and Tahraun Hammond. 

Pitcher Nicholas Woolfolk pitched a gem of a game by pitching a complete-game win in which he pitched seven scoreless innings while only allowing six hits and giving up one walk and two hit by pitches. He struck out four.

As for the second game of the doubleheader, the Trojans lost 3-0, unable to gain any real momentum during the game. They only managed three hits while leaving six on base. 

Grayson Spain pitched five and two-thirds innings allowing only three hits and three runs and striking out five batters.

Rashad Miller pitched an inning and a third allowing one hit, two walks, and one strikeout. The Trojans’ overall record now stands at 4-1. The Trojans are set to face off against the Lincoln University Lions in a two-game doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 19th with the first game at 1:00 PM and the second game at 3:00 PM.
