The Trojans winter sports teams’ seasons are nearing their end as the men’s and women’s basketball teams play their last home game on Feb. 16th, and the indoor track and field team finishes their regular season on Feb. 5th.

During the second half of the men’s and women’s basketball season, due to COVID-19 precautions, VSU limited the people who could attend the games to only essential personnel. Fans and spectators were not allowed to go to attend home games from Jan. 15 up until Jan. 29.

Many of the indoor track athletes placed in the top tier in their respective events in the three meets. In the recent Vince Brown Invitational, Emmanuel Oguntoye placed first in the triple jump, with his best jump at 14.14 meters. In the 800 meters freshman Jalen Brownlee finished in second place with a 2:03.40. Junior Glenda Jenkins finished first in the 60 meters and 200 meters with a time of a 7.84 and 26.06 respectively.
